Superfood: Avocado

Oh Avocado,

How we love you so! Most of us are already eating and enjoying this fabulous fruit (Yes, it really is considered a fruit), but there are many other ways to use avocados. Hair treatments, anti-frizz oil, face masks, sunscreen, natural fabric dye, smoothies, cooking oil, even dessert.

So why are avocados being used for all these things? Well, they contain vitamin E, which helps moisturize the hair and skin. They contain one of the richest levels of monounsaturated fat and they have twice the amount of potassium as bananas. They also contain vitamin a, b, c and k, as well as iron, calcium, magnesium, and zinc.

That being said we eat a lot of avocados here at Primrose Wellness & Beauty but we’re always looking for new ways to incorporate them into our diet. Today we’ve created avocado chocolate pudding. It might sounds a little strange, but the avocado acts as the base and texture for your pudding without all the dairy and unknown chemicals in store bought pudding. Don’t worry…the cocoa powder and other ingredients do a wonderful job of disguising this super food.

When making this recipe we use almond milk and maple syrup. We have also used other naturally flavored stevia syrups in place of maple and that has turned out equally as good!
Keep in mind depending on the size of the avocados you may need to use more or less sweetener and cocoa powder. This is definitely a sample as you blend recipe.
